THE EMPHASIS SHOULD BE THE ALTERNATIVE GOVERNMENT
President Obama has been taking a correct position on the Middle East by taking a back seat and act only in support of the people of each country to move with the democratisation process. This is rightly so because of US backing for Israel which makes it impossible for the US to strike at Israel if it commits atrocities against the Palestinians.
The way forward for Obama in Syria is clear. His government should listen to no other voice, but that of the vast majority of the Syrian people. US intelligence should focus on knowing what the democratic Syrian leaders and people who are interested in a Secular Republic that would safeguard the rights of all irrespective of religion or tribe say. ....
