Social Security to get 50 new Buses ,Is it the function of Social Security to run a bus company ? The money to buy buses has come from money held by Social Security to pay pensions and the like,what happens to pensions when the money pot is empty through buying buses and maintaining a bus company? Foroyaa has asked very pertinent questions,responses waited with interest from Social Security.

It looks like the PPP regime is still providing for the nation. They established the first public transport system in the country. The aprc destroyed it and now a PPP establised public corporation,SSHFC, is providing another public transport system for the country.
Instead of shouting 'Babilimansa', I think the APRC should, on this occasion, be singing 'D.K Isabarri' in praise of Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara.

Toubab, they did say that the buses are going to be run on a profit making basis. That means they are hoping to restitute the penson money with the profit that they hope to accrue from the operation of the buses. Whether that is feasible without an impact on pensioners is the question.
Foroyaa tend to be carried away by symmetrics.
Thanks

1. YOU ARE ALWAYS WRONG EMPLOYING CYNICAL AND DISINGENUOUS POLITICAL TACTICS TO UNSCRUPULOUSLY DISTORT AND PEDDLE FALSE INFORMATION! Only the gullible will believe you on your ridiculous comment that infer relevance of your own notion of ("symmetrics") apply here
2. Foroyaa editorial did not "say that the buses are going to be run on a profit making basis." and SSHFC "hoping to restitute the penson money with the profit that they hope to accrue from the operation of the buses."
3. Foroyaa editorial is CONCERNED WHY SSHFC INVESTED WORKERS MONEY IN THIS BUSINESS VENTURE AMONGST OTHERS, CRIED FOUL PLAY IN SSHFC MISMANAGEMENT OR HANDLING THE PROVIDENT AND PENSION FUNDS IN WRONG INVESTMENTS, briefly pointed out wrong business practise/decisions, on few pertinent questions and information analysing "the investment in purchasing Ocean Bay Hotel and refurbishing it at a cost of over 400 Million dalasi" FROM SOCIAL SECURITY FUNDS. THEN CLEARLY STATED "THE CONCERNS" THAT;
- "The Social security is a workers’ company. They provide the funds for pensions. The funds would exist as long as employment exists. However, the company has to save the funds collected from the workers or invest it in the productive base of the economy in order to preserve the monies paid by the workers. "
- "In our view, a company like Social Security that cannot afford to be bankrupt or lack sufficient funds to pay pensioners should invest the monies paid in the Banking system and public enterprises could go directly to the banks to borrow money to buy ferries or buses and then be monitored by the banks for payment."
- "Foroyaa will now proceed to conduct more investigation on the cost of the buses and how the new company is to operate in relation to Social security."
