Ah Well, progress, but why change history for the sake of a politicians name? for generations the Royal Victoria Hospital has been THE hospital in The Gambia latterly being renamed the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, now on the whim of politicans who feel that tradition and history must be changed to reflect their own status and power,Gambia's history has been consigned to the dump. My opinion only I know but yet again another Gambian traditional name wiped away the same as many old street names from the Colonial period that existed in times gone by that have been replaced by something "NEW and exciting" not in my book ,sorry, tradition is a part of what a country is and should not be tampered with .

Very unfortunate,BUT,hopefully this additional revenue charged to the hard pressed Gambian people maybe used to pay a living salary to the nurses and doctors at the EFSTH ( still think that RVTH sounds better )the previous charges could not be sustained in a world of escalating prices.
