Sounds like the usual propaganda stuff, but paradoxically she could be right. It is obvious that the Gambian opposition suffers from 'fear of winning'...

Its all about politics and all these things are working in favour for Jammeh and the APRC(e.g. Success of the AU translated into merry making and boom for business; manipulation of the voter supplementary registrations by IEC, Commissioners and APRC stalwarts, under the directives of Jammeh). Take note that "what does we have done our homework means?" in the article!

Sadly for the opposition they are sitting in limbo and lacked the proper platform, direction, strategies and resources.

Winning is inevitable for Jammeh and no threat for APRC appears to be true, facts and realities. However lets follow any developments and decisiveness on the opposition parties.

The structures are already in place ie. Finance, a well structured APRC party for proper networking, the media, and government resources, projects financed by both government, NGOS, Donor Agencies and private sector contributions for him to win overwhelmingly. Its already too late for the opposition to undermine these amongst others. Sorry for Gambia as Jammeh is going nowhere come election 2006. Think about it

Hi,
I belief Maraiam Jaw is right.
The Gambia is a supper Power(As according to president Jammeh)And we all knew what he said...on coate " If the opposition wants the presidency, they have to be more patient than a volture"... ..end of coate.
What else does the opposition expect? Can someone tell me?
peace

Kobo whether you think Gambia is going no where after the elections that's really immaterial the reality is Gambia will survive because it is Gambians who will demonstrate the resilence to transform their society into what it is going to become. No matter what gloomy forecast are foretold the light will eventually shine on the smiling coast, for as leaders come and leaders go Gambia will be there forever.

Peace

Sister am sorry to deny I don't imply that as quoted above What am saying is that there are certain concerns expected to continue and handled in a more experienced way by Jammeh, the NIA and APRC. Generally those conserns under Jammeh's stewardship and tenacity of state organs earned him (in some quarters) the unpopular titles of a dictator and a tyrant whose reign by terror, authoritarian rule, injustices, divide and rule policies, corrupton, economic crises, lacked of transparency and accountability are the crucial factors.

However I endorsed your optimism on Gambia's future. Thanks!

If the oppositions are not a threat to jammeh, why the illegal registration of foreign nationals.Jammeh may win this electon but one thing is certain, he is not going to get it that cheap. This is even known to jammeh more than anyone else.No matter the lack of a united opposition they still hold a strong command of the electorates and with new prospective voters and the hardship Gambians are going through, you can not tell.Is not going to be an easy ride for APRC.

Are you still calling NAAD oppositions (+) of including this old stager and managing to believe that they will come and rule us. My God are you living in this century? Let them rule them self first. Its not too long here that we could disacquirementized our mind, and our animus are also still around. A water is for cleaning but you most have also a cleaned water to clean,oh man you are still believing reincarnate with those guys. Well go on and dream and dream again but you will find it out one day that your dreams will tune to nightmare.
We don’t want go forward with these---.they are not entrust them self and that is not surprise to me cos they want come back to the old stage-power show so they can file up their account and resign like they used to do, but the sun is not sing for the any more whether you are NAAD/naiad or PPP/parting on peoples Puckett what makes it a difference?
