Today’s guest at Gainako is sainey Faye fondly Uncle Sainey. Uncle Sainey is a Panafricanist who greatly participated in the political enlightenment of colonial and post colonial Gambia. He currently lives in Atlanta Georgia where he teaches African history to high school students and helps organize enlightenment forums for community colleges. Uncle Sainey is one of the founding members of AGERA, a Gambian association based in Atlanta. Until recently, Uncle Sainey was AGERA’s Secretary. On today’s interview, Uncle Sainey discussed in great detail the ideas of panafricanism, its early founders and how such a noble struggle brought about great enlightenment and unity of people (Blacks) with a common destiny who’ve been displaced far and while from their African origin.
