At a meeting last year Jemmeh voiced his concern regarding the extortion of money from tourists and told all heads of departments it has to stop as it was damaging the country
So has it or will it stop I very much dout it
So what’s to be done to eliminate this?
1/ I would suggest the government engage the services of a private firm of solicitors to investigate such claims and bring these people to justice. The solicitor’s services paid by the government
2/ To give out flyers to all arriving tourist with the name and contact telephone numbers of said solicitors Detailing time place offenders name or number

After a few of these offenders lose there job or are sent to prison word would soon get around and it would soon stop then any costs to the government would soon diminish and the reputation of Gambia enhanced

Snuggles,You could perhaps extend this scheme to the UK and deal with Banks,Gas companies, Petrol companies,Electricity companies, lawyers, insurance companies, just the same here except its called "business", and not extortion
