This is what I take to be part of the new tax regime for the Gambia outlined in the very wordy and boring article,in order for and administration to function effectively it must have money from the people (yes folks ,TAXES ) to plan for projects and necessary expenditure in the running of a country and not have to rely on "donations" from companies in order to make improvements to the quality of life experienced by Gambians, this rethink will be strange to many Gambians and I am pleased to see that it has been "validated " by the GRA in good time.BUT there is no mention of a briefing to explain to the Gambian people the effect that this is going to have on items that they buy or sell, time is short for a programme telling EVERYONE what is going on. As far as I can see of now its just administrators who know anything about telling the people of developments in the future, publication in the D.O. is insufficient.Everyone must realise that sensitization of the people programmes must be part of the package.
