Last night i was watching Frontline, a documentary program about the Moso people.( You see, Yoro Bawol is quite advanced). I was quite fascinated to learn that society is centered on women. They do not believe in marriage. Their lovers visit women at night and leave in the morning. Their mother’s brothers raise the children that are eventually born. The father if actually known would only visit but has no rights.

Men must be seriously having a good time of running around and being lazy. The women are hard working, but the idea of being committed really bothers them.

The Moso live in the border between Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces, in the oriental part of the Tibetan plateau and number between 20, 2000 and 50,000 people.

They are Chinese natives and based on the matriach. So in other words, women dont marry. Instead it is the men that take turns in visiting the woman. It is the opposite of the many wives system we have in the Gambia.

Men have very little control. Women here enjoy a lot of freedom from men.

toubab1020, I READ IT! I meat you at sunrise... okay, the choice of weapons is yours.

I seem to recall that an equivalent to the Moso system is known from the Trobriand Islands (Bronislaw Malinowski and Wilhelm Reich wrote about it), a part of Papua Newguinea. The matrilineal Trobriand people were known as peaceful, while the Papua themselves were/are nice machos....

Nice idea, but I am not a very good hacker. Maybe I should ask the friendly NSA boys and girls to help me?
