As far as I can read the new man hasn't mentioned what he intends to do and will:

" be patient as changes cannot happen within days. May Allah guide us in this task."

Hopefully we can be told soon how things will progress at RVH under his leadership.

"What the President has authority to do is to establish a Commission of enquiry to look into the state of any public institution and objectively give reports on findings"

If commissions of enquiry are like the ones in the UK they can take years,in a small country like Gambia with only one big hospital that will result in much unnecessary patient suffering if recent reports concerning standards are to be believed.

OK shall we wait a few years whilst they sort themselves out ?

"Some hospital personnel may lack some commitment to the ethics of the profession."

These salaries are obviously not enough and must be increased at the first opportunity, you cannot expect staff to perform well if you pay rubbish salaries

"Our findings reveal that Auxiliary nurses receive 1000 dalasi as salary, which is taxable, 75 dalasi as responsibility allowance and 300 dalasi as night allowance. They receive less than 1500 dalasi a month, even though they are daily exposed to life threatening working conditions. "
