"The Public Relations Manager of KMC, Mr. Pa Kalifa Sanyang confirmed the demolition exercise and said it is an official order from the Council. Pa Sanyang pointed out that the Council decided to evict the vendors with the aim to decongest city centres and to allow free flow of vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Mr. Sanyang indicated that they wanted all vendors and businesses along the ways that are of hindrance to the movement of the general public to move to newly market outlets that the Council has built and are unutilized. "

Sensible in one way but sly in another, its again about MONEY,D10 for a table by the highway as opposed to ? "to move to newly market outlets that the Council has built and are unutilized. " I wonder what the rent is at the "newly market outlets" ? not D10 per day that's for sure.
Still looks like Gambia and the KMC are joining the rest of the world and making people poorer by generating bills by government and councils. Me cynical ? You got that right !!!!

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
