"FROM GOD WE COME AND TO GOD WE SHALL RETURN"
Gambians should now look beyond Yahya Jammeh's buscuits. I honestly think these incidents could be avoided if the tyrant stop throwing Buscuits at welcoming children who only stand by to cheer a leader. If Yahya Jammeh so care, it has happened before when people died as a result of this so called buscuit throwing of the president. Now again Yahya is at it again throwing the same buscuits WHAT FOR? ONLY YAHYA KNOWS.
President’s Convoy vehicle Causes Deaths at Busumbala Author: Publisher | Date: 09-09-2011.
By Lamin Sanyang The people of Busumbala village in the Western Region, on Wednesday 7 th September 2011 witnessed the tragic death of many people who were in the street as the convoy of the President was passing. Eye witnesses saw biscuits being thrown from the President’s convoy while people young and old scrambled for them.
According to eye, witnesses the vehicles that formed the convoy were moving at high speed while the President was throwing biscuits. It is reported that all of a sudden a black Land Cruiser with tainted glass dived to avoid children who were scrambling for the biscuits on the road only to lose control. It is reported that the transport ran over two children before crossing the road to hit a taxi van loaded with passengers and a private vehicle parked at a compound gate and then hit a telephone pole. This reporter located the guardians of the deceased persons some of whom had very sad stories to tell.
The family of Mr. Dawda Jatta lost two children. Another is still at the hospital. A shaken Dawda Jatta said that a child named after him who came on holiday was hit by the vehicle and is currently admitted at the RVTH. He further told this reporter that two of his children, Mustapha Jatta and Sarata Sanyang were killed. He said Mustapha Jatta is his late younger brother’s child who was the former driver of the Director General of GRTS. He said his brother died less than four months back and his widow is still mourning over his death. He said Sarata Sanyang is his sister’s daughter but all the children are living in the same compound at Busumbala. This reporter spoke to the driver of the van which was hit by the Land Cruiser. According to the van driver three people in his vehicle died as a result of the accident. He said five other people sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the RVT Hospital in Banjul. Explaining the circumstances the driver said, “I parked the vehicle and went out to join the spectators with my apprentice, to allow the convoy to pass. Five minutes later the convoy arrived with biscuits being thrown. One boy went to pick a packet of biscuits on the road and the convoy could not control the speed and hit him before hitting a 190 Benz and my vehicle along with a telephone pole.” He said the child died on the spot. He said one of the passengers who died in his vehicle was an old woman from the Casamance region in Senegal and was taken back for burial. He also mentioned that the Nigerian national who was sitting in front of the van suffered from fractures on both of his legs. The officials at the Mortuary at the R.V.T.H were contacted to establish the total number of people who died but declined to make any comment. Some of the relatives of the deceased who were present at the Mortuary could not tell the total number of people who died from the accident. The Public Relation Officer of R.V.T.H. was said to be on holiday. However, one official at the hospital estimated that at least eight people died in connection with the accident. This reporter takes this figure with a grain of salt until the official figure is divulged by the police. The Police spokesperson, ASP Mballow, was contacted at the Police Headquarters in Banjul to give a conclusive figure of the death at the accident but said he is yet to have the information. Meanwhile, all the vehicles involved in the accident were removed by the police and taken to the New Yundum Police Station on the night of the accident.

I agree with you toubab 1020. Gambia is heading for distruction. People need to saqy to their children don't go out when you hear presidential convoy.Because when you loose a child, its is irreplaceable and no amount of compensation can restore such a valuable gift. A child is the gifty of God and only God has a right to take from a parent not stupid drunkards on the wheels under command of a MAD DOG.X |

Very true Jayanfara, everybody knows that these are convoys of intoxicated mad men and thugs.... so who are these parents and people who get within 500meters of these crazy convoys??
Sadly, Gambians- true to themselves- will brush this under the carpet by saying it is the will of god and everyone should pray for the decease and go about their normal lives.
A few Gambians though, are being pushed to the edge... and they are struggling to keep their anger under the lid. These people's anger and frustration is about to burst out... it will NOT be pretty. |

YA Brother Prince, Na very true.I always feel for those under the clutches of the Kanilai Monster. He does not care never will he care as long as thode Mad intucicated driver did not hit Ya Assombi or Muhammad and Mariama, they are save but anyday one mistakes knock down any of these, even if by accident, you will be shot on the spot. That should show Gambians the mad dog cares less abt them.
Bro kobo as for your Gods PDOIS, why can they demonstrate against these mad killings of Gambians? Are they scared? Writting abt it is now enough we expect them to show bravery because as some said UDP is scared. ONLY TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE.x |

BRO KITABUL ARERR, You right these so called IDOL WOSHIPPING MARABOUTS are the problems of Africa. Some disguise themselves behind Islam to confuse people and their devilish acts are causing us all the backwardness. God damned them all and those who listen them. I tell you a story Sometime in 2000, my wife went to see one of these so called marabouts and he told her your husband is now looking for a second wife and unless you pay me 30,000 Dalasis no charm can stop him because his gin wife who protects him is very powerful but is my gin wife's mother. This lovely wife of mine believed him and gave him 30,000 of our money. Guess the rest that happened after. The ****** asked my wife to provide a cloth from the grave. You know the fulas my wife was scared to death and she told me about it .I went looking for the marabout and when he knew I was looking for him, he fled to cassamance. They are mad *****s and only lie and lie in the name of marabouism.x |

I don't expect your inept, arrogant and ridiculous statements over there?
POLITICS IS NOT ABOUT BAD LANGUAGE, SMEARING AND SWEARING BUT ABOUT THE POLICIES , STRATEGIES AND DECISIVE DECISIONS?
What "TRUTH" can you claim to make me free
I WAS EXCHANGING IDEAS AS A COMRADE, GAMBIAN AS "WE ARE ALL CITIZENS IN THIS TOGETHER?" BUT SOME OF YOU ARE WHAT RETARDS US IN DEALING WITH JAMMEH/APRC
1. GAMBIA'S PREDICAMENT AND FREEDOMS OF CITIZENS WILL NOT BE HIGH-JACK BY ANY PARTY TO FORCEFULLY DOMINATE POWER AND INFLUENCE THE AFFAIRS OF THE NATION
2. PDOIS POLICY DOES NOT ALIENATE ANY CITIZEN TO DECIDE ITS DESTINY AND DISENFRANCHISED NONE
3. REFER BELOW ON THE PDOIS CLARIFICATIONS ON A UNITED FRONT AS FOLLOWS
"The reason why we subscribe to a United Front is because of our realisation that the results of the 2006 elections reveal that voter apathy has gripped the Gambian electorate. In short, over 270,000 people saw the APRC, UDP and NADD but did not vote at all. Hence those who did not vote at all are in the majority and could have made any one to be President of the Gambia. These people did not vote for the Major Ruling party or the Major or Minor opposition parties.
This is why we said that we should put the parties and personalities aside and proceed to mobilise those people so that they would move away from their political apathy and take interest in voting. I am glad that you have acknowledged that so much is being said and written about a United Front. In fact, it is the clarion call for all those who are tired of self-perpetuating rule.
Our initial position is that we should put our party manifestoes aside and adopt a transitional arrangement which would enable only one candidate to be elected through an Inter party primary to stand for the opposition against the incumbent.
This person would help us to put an end to the tradition of holding political office for decades by accepting to be in office only for a period of 2 to 5 years so as to build the foundation for a genuine democratic society which would not exclude anyone on the basis of gender, ethnicity, or past political affiliations and then open both the public and private media to all the political and civic organisations in the country so that a genuine multi-party system could be put in place before the end of the transition.
The transitional government would include in its agenda Constitutional reform. We include a two year transitional period so that APRC would not claim that what they did in two years could not be done by us within the same time frame.
We are fully confident that any Presidential candidate for the opposition who would be willing to swear before the whole nation that he or she would hold office only for two years just to enable the country to ensure proper utilization of public resources and build a genuine multi-party system, would certainly deserve a place equal to Nelson Mandela in world history. I do not see how such a person could lose an election if he or she is genuine."
4. GO BACK TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR COMPANIONS TO REVIEW AND ANALYSE THIS STATEMENT AS AN ASSIGNMENT (UNDER 5. FOLLOWING NEXT) AND TELL ME WHAT PDOIS AND ITS LEADERS ARE OR DOING? BE "TRUTHFUL" OR ELSE CONSIDER YOURSELF; GUILTY OF INTELLECTUAL "DIS-HONESTY" AND CONTEMPT TO DEMOCRACY & CIVIL LIBERTY
5. REFER "We ask all our citizens to be an integral part of the change they seek by getting involved in whatever capacity suits them. Change is always a difficult task and along the way it is easy to become despondent, fearful, tired, angry, and sometimes be tempted to throw in the towel. But because the cause we have embarked upon is a just one that must be pursued, we must all strive harder to achieve these important goals. We however, can do it only if we come together as one and face the opponent. This cause is bigger than any individual or group of individuals." Lawyer Ousainou Darboe
PS:
i. MY CONSCIENCE, POSITION AND WHAT I PERSONALLY ADVOCATE IS VERY CLEAR under President Jammeh "I WILL RESIGN ANY DAY"
ii. SAME WITH PDOIS IN RELATION TO POINT 4. ABOVE?
iii. IT IS MY FIRM CONVICTION THAT CERTAIN UDP MILITANTS ARE PURSUING PARTISAN POWER AND VERY UNCOMPROMISING TOWARDS UNITING WITH OTHER OPPONENTS ON A COMMON GROUND AGAINST JAMMEH/APRC FOR A NATIONAL CAUSE; GROSSLY DAMAGING UDP'S CREDIBILITY AS UNIFYING FORCE FOR ALL GAMBIANS ONBOARD |
