Kobo,
I belief in reality Yahya Jammeh should have face the facts and tell the kiankas "because you have never voted for me I too would not bring any of my government develop projects to your areas. Wait for your government to do it.
From now on every year I would ask the commissioner and the revenue collectors to return all your taxes for I too would not take anything from you.
But on the otherhand the thief would steal from the kiankas and use their money to develop other areas. That is high way robbery for every one os free under our constitution to decide which political party to vote for.

This is what I have tried to say previously; the money is linked to the voting.
Some people think this is rubbish, but I have heard this from local people many times.

"In July 2010, Jammeh said at a rally, "Whether you like it or not, no coup will end my government, no elections can end my government. By God's grace I will rule this country as long as I wish and choose someone to replace me." The same month, he added "Come 2011, whether you vote for me or not, I will win," and "If any area chooses to be with the opposition, let them go ahead and expect no benefit or development by my government.""

Bev don't even trip I will be your abridged translation, none will do this speech justice for they will not really tell you what he is really saying. This is something the average Toubab will not understand, In Africa things are different and whats considered mental abuse in most instances is acceptable in Africa. I aint had enough time to watch the whole video but I have no problem giving you the 411 when I get home. I can't stream videos where am at right now,I had to briefly watch it from my phone but don't worry will translate and explain the meaning for the white folks to understand the African Lingo.

Yahya Jammeh should be impeached for denying rightful Gambian voters their development needs. Every geo political demarcation in a country deserve what they are due. It is wrong and big shame for leader of a country to tell voters they will not get development unless they vote for the government in power. Jammeh has to re-think.

RELATED Wuli West - End of Days for the Opposition

"This was put into action as over a 1000 people from Sandu Darsilami, Wuli Bajonkoto and Nyakoi Taibatou, most of them youths dressed in green, shifted allegiance to the APRC during a meeting held Thursday evening in Sutokonding village in Wuli West District, as part of the president’s ongoing nationwide ‘Dialogue with the people’s tour’. Welcoming the former opposition supporters to the APRC, President Jammeh told them that if it is for the sake of election, he would not have gone to the area. “Whether you vote for me or not, I will win. Wuli West is just a minority in The Gambia,” he said.

At that juncture, the Gambian leader asked the people of Wuli West how they feel living in the area. “We are suffering,” was there reply. “Your votes did not make me the president and I am not here to persuade any of you to vote for me, because whether you vote for me or not I have been winning. Wuli West, you are just a minority and I told the people of Kiang West and Salikene if they want to move backward and continue suffering, let them stay with the opposition and the same to you. The choice is yours. I will reward those who like me and vote for me,” the president stated.
He said that Nyakoi was one of the first places in the country the APRC government built a senior secondary school and recalled that when he went to officially inaugurate the school, only the students attended the inauguration, as all the elders refused to turn up because they were all in the opposition.
