How clean is it that public servants like regional commissioners openly condition voters to choose a particular candidate in national elections? That is simple blatant abuse of public trust. It is wrong for a commissioner to pass statements like this:

"The law states categorically that political parties may be established to participate in the shaping of the political will of the people, to disseminate information of political ideas and on political, economic and social programmes of a National Character, and to sponsor candidates for public elections.

The number of political parties shall not be limited by law and every citizen of the Gambia shall have the right freely to choose whether or not he or she will become a member of a political party and which party he or she will support.

Be alerted that APRC is working underground to consolidate its grip on power. We must not be naive to think that we could wait until the day for election is declared to start work and expect to get a different electoral outcome which favours the opposition.

We are free to work and we should work harder than the APRC to overcome them.

Make sure that you do not antagonize any voter in your sensitisation campaigns since they are the very people whom we need to mobilise. Avoid those who are interested in quarrels and insults. Stick to the issues we want to raise with the people. Respect is not a gift. It is earned. If PDOIS is to get respect it must be ready to earn it. I will never be found wanting in doing whatever is necessary to ensure that PDOIS in particular and the Opposition in general earn the respect to be an alternative.

I wish to take this opportunity to call on all the Governors, the District Chiefs, the Village Heads and the law enforcement agents to respect and uphold the letter and spirit of the Constitution and the laws of the land and create no obstacle to our sensitisation campaigns."

Kobo, Halifa and PDOIS would have been keenly following trends. When Jammeh announced he was not going to campaign, he did not tell Gambians that commissioners, chiefs, and village leaders will not do the dirty job for him.

These misconduct are FACTS, seen executed in recent By-elections won by APRC and the practice still continues; EVEN SECRETARIES OF STATE, DIRECTORS, CIVIL SERVANTS ARE PART OF POLITICAL NETWORK FOR APRC; AMONGST OTHER TOOLS

UDP STRONGMAN Shyngle Nyassi criticised APRC National Mobiliser Coley with double political status as Mayor;..........REFER;

"The UDP strongman further told this reporter that, despite having Colley as a national mobiliser, the ruling APRC is still not comfortable with Colley and are now using regional governors, chiefs and the task-force committee.

In his view, the APRC has no structures on the ground across the country, as the party only uses regional offices during its tours.

“The APRC is a scattered party, and that is why they don’t depend on their area chairmen and committees, but instead, they use government machinery. And, surprisingly enough it is a fact that regional governors are leading campaigns in their regions,” he told this reporter."

Brother Kobo,

Call this very dirty politics, and that's the name. It seems APRC does not have morality as part of their values. For them, it is a matter of hook and crook.
