Tomaa, thanks for sharing. Is there any DVD of this festival for sale? I love our "Chosan" and feel nostalgic to see all those masked dancers. |

Tomaa, email me your postal address and I will send you a promotional copy of the dvd. It was recorded by my team but due to electricity probs i had to edit out some parts(sadly mostly masked dancing) due to poor lighting.

The griots were bitng you on the Kora festival. I was laughing with the over zealous Gambian-centrict narration of the Kora story. However, they couldn't forget the role onegambia played in making the event a success. I enjoyed it. Your team did well. Although, the 4000 Euros request is a bit comical. I also like the fact that, they believe that, they are all informal Professors. That is a highlight. |

Suntou, It was an interesting event with the Jalis narrations contradicting each other here and there but over all there is much to learn especially for me. About the 4000euros, Jali Manjako Susso was comical and he laughed when I called him up after watching the videos the first time and touched on it. There are plans to hold the event again soon.

Manjako is an entertain character. Very confident of history knowledge, that is until i find him there. All the Suso kunda can do is eat and brag. |
