For purpose of clarity the term 'Money Laundering' is internationally recognised process where criminals and cartels push dirty money one end and receive seemingly clean money at the other end.

For example, when Yaya Jammeh of Gambia gets into dubious dealings, he ends up with bags full of American Dollars. Same goes for blood diamonds. Also when other despots take gold and diamond to deposit in Gambia, they later have it turned into raw cash. All that is part of money laundering. With ECOWAS now ready to hold the bull by its horn soon big dealers will be flushed out.

Yer..........right sure they will .But like all good changes it will take many years, talk is cheap, actions and enforcement, that's a totally different ball game..............I wonder if I could get Gordon Brown to become an Hon Member of ECOWAS, ? In an advisory capacity of course now he is available, after doing such a good job for the UK,

For very long time T1020, we've not heard a word from this august body ECOWAS regarding the menace of money laundering. In the UK talks about money laundering remain within the circle of financial industry. The general public may not be fully bothered. That does not mean money laundering is not an issue for Europe or any developed nation. In reality, dirty money is laundered in the financial laundries of developed nations.

Therefore ECOWAS is right to join the fight against money laundering.
