Wuli East by-election is April 28

Following the sudden demise of the late Hon. Bakai Camara, the former National Assembly member for Wuli East, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has slated a date for election to fill the vacant seat for the constituency.
According to a media dispatch from the Commission and signed by the chairman, Alhaji Mustapha L. Carayol, the by-election will be conducted on Thursday, 28th of April 2011.
The release reads: Following the notification from the Clerk of the National Assembly of the vacant seat for Wuli East Constituency, the Independent Electoral Commission will conduct a by-election to fill the said vacant seat on Thursday, 28th of April 2011.
Monday, 18th of April 2011 is Nomination Day and campaign begins from Monday, 18th of April 2011 to Tuesday, 26th of April 2011. Consequently, Nomination Forms for intending candidates could be collected from either the IEC’s Headquarters along Bertil Harding Highway or the IEC Regional Office situated in Mansajang Kunda, Basse from Monday, 4th of April 2011.
