snuggles,yes a bit of a hike but fuel costs have increased everywhere and the airport taxi drivers have to pay a premium for working at the airport,and there are few airline passengers who take an airport taxi most are met by friends,or get coach transfer to their hotels,, airport taxi drivers have to wait in turn, so before you get a D500 fare you may well have waited over a week,so after you pay fuel not much left to feed the family bearing in mind that the driver is just a driver and not the owner of the taxi in most cases.
