I think it's a good idea to joint Gambian together and even remembering our culture and we the once getting married here, for our children know where they belongs to, and the cultural way of doing things. Eve |

It really is great, joining all Gambians together to celebrate your culture. Not only do they do it in Stockholm but also in Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen. I´m surprised to hear they don´t do it elsewhere too like in Belgium. You´re really missing out on something guys. I don´t think there are any other african groups that do such big events as the Gambians? I must say I truly miss those Gambian weeks alot now that I´m divorced. Haven´t been to any Gambian parties for many years now. |

Babylon, There are probably a lot of Gambian men who would have no problem to join you to those Gambian parties
Bye the way the event we organise in Oostende is not a huge event (not yet). Last year we invited Koto Ngum (must be a famous Gambian musician) who played together with some local musicians. Unluckely the 20th aug 2005 was the worst summerday we had of the whole summer and we have to move inside (lots of rain and stormy). The event was originally planned at the beach in Oostende. Bev, we had in the last 100 years already 2 worldwars.. . But everyone is welcome, of coarse . I post the program later.
And I have to warn the members of the Bantaba, Belgium is a nice country, but we drink a lot of alcoholic drinks, a majority (certainly in Oostende) is atheistic and the other part is passive christian. We joke about religions, and so on.
That's a good idea Kondorong to invite junkung. We can learn him how to organise fair elections, what freedom of press really is, how to organise a trustable electricity network . And while he is here he can sell his diamonds in Antwerp. As you know Antwerp is THE diamond center of the world. But he has to promise to bring Madam Zinab with him. She will feel at home as there is a large number of Maroccans living in Belgium.
