Police gets new PRO Africa » Gambia Monday, January 31, 2011 Yerro Mballow has been appointed the new public relations officer (PRO) of the Gambia Police Force (GPF). The appointment took effect Friday.
Mballow, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was until his new appointment, the deputy police PRO. He replaces Chief Superintendent Sulayman Secka, the former PRO who has been moved to the Documentation Centre also known as the Peacekeeping Centre at the Kairaba Police Station.
Confirming his appointment to the Daily Observer Friday at the Police headquarters in Banjul, the new police PRO expressed delight at being chosen out of many. He said: "This promotion is enormous and I will live up to expectation." He stressed that he needs the collaboration of all Gambians to enable him succeed. "There are lots of challenges but with the support of the people, we will move forward," he added.
Yerro Mballow joined the GPF on 1st September 1991and has been a prosecutor for the past 13 years. Author: by Omar Wally
