Voices of Gambian Diasporans – Invitation to the General Public
Save The Gambia Democracy Project is pleased to extend an invitation to all Gambians and friends in The Gambia and around the world to share comments ideas, suggestions and solutions on the way forward using our weekly short-wave radio program called “Voices of Gambian Diasporans” (VOGD).
Please note that all recordings will be subjected to review and approval by the STGDP Media Group before broadcasting on VOGD. All contributors will be notified of all decision made by the Media Group.
VOGD was established earlier this year to promote freedom of speech and to establish an opportunity for Gambians and friends, but more importantly the opposition leaders – whom otherwise, do not have the state media available - to share their ideas and agenda with the people of Gambia. Such an opportunity would not have otherwise been possible under the current repressive media environment in The Gambia.
VOGD has been on air since June 4, 2005 and we intend to maintain our weekly programs for the foreseeable future. The target audience is the length and breadth of The Gambia and other listeners around the world. Our current hours of broadcast are every Saturday evening from 2000hrs to 2030hrs GMT. VOGD can be heard in English and all the major local languages on 9405KHZ (9.4MHZ) on the 31 Meter Band of your short-wave radio receiver.
If you are interested in sharing your thoughts, ideas and suggestions on the way forward with Gambians and friends in The Gambia and outside, please contact the STGDP Media Group representatives at the numbers listed below.
