Daily Observer news reports President Jammeh injects over D0.7M to Women's Federation launch under http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/president-jammeh-injects-over-d07m-to-womens-federation-launch

As it reads; "The president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr [Yahya Jammeh Wednesday afternoon donated, through the vice president and minister of Women's Affairs, a cash amount of D777,777.00 for the launching of the National Women's Federation scheduled for Saturday. The presentation ceremony was held at the Office of the Vice President and minister of Women's Affairs at State House in Banjul."

Foroyaa online newspaper counter it with Editorial : THE WOMEN’S BUREAU SHOULD BE STRAIGHT FORWARD TO WOMEN IS THE LAUNCHING OF THE WOMEN’S FEDERATION AN APRC AFFAIR? under http://www.foroyaa.gm/modules/news/article.php?storyid=5696

WHY IS THIS CHEQUE DRAWN WITH ALL SIX "7" DIGITS? IT LOOKS ODD & The interesting part of my observation is that number "7" as odd number appears to be a superstitious tricky number? It is common that "marabouts" or spiritual leaders locally; consider manipulation of variations of "7s" as something magical or for miracles to occur! For example; you may be directed or prescribed for charity by your spiritual leader to dish out; 7 white candles, 7 cola nuts, 7 silver coins as the list goes on with 7s; depending your affordability? Therefore it appears that this cheque was issued with pre-meditated intentions to mock Gambian democracy, showbiz or fulfil a prophecy I CAN BET IT IS THE CRUDE GAMBIAN WAY OF LIFE!

I can re-called that President Jammeh criticised in Senegalese press during last years "Magaal Toubab" giving all donations including bags of Sugar, rice, etc in odd numbers; as whether that is acceptable in Islam or giving that form of charity or patronage is muslim form

The sums on this cheque can be questioned or related in the interest of ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY & CORRUPTION; through the following Bantaba Gambian politics topic;

NB: On how "Yaya Fools Nation" this special commentary from Gainako news attempts to address it; Special Commentary: Jammeh’s Windfall Again. under http://www.gainako.com/news/news/2010/09/01/special-commentary-jammeh%E2%80%99s-windfall-again.html

The ODD NUMBERS AGAIN speaks volumes in state spiritual rituals through dictates of Jammeh; as Jollof online news reports Jammeh allegedly sacrifices 11 bulls in Daba Marenah’s home village under http://www.jollofnews.com/president-jammeh-allegedly-sacrifices-11-bulls-in-daba-marenahs-home-village.html
