Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe might not attend an EU-Africa summit next week because his wife has been refused a visa to go with him, officials in Harare have said.
Mr Mugabe, 90, and his wife Grace are subject to travel bans by the EU because of alleged human rights abuses and election-rigging.
Harare on Friday urged other African Union members to shun the summit.
But diplomats in Brussels say they are unfazed by the boycott call.......

2. Ahead of EU-Africa Summit, MEP Demand EU Action on Gambia’s Jammeh
As EU and African leaders prepares to meet next week in Brussels to discuss EU-Africa Partnership, Jean Lambert Green Party,Member of European Parliament have back calls for the EU to shine spotlight on the appalling human rights situation in The Gambia at the summit.
Her comment came as the former Vice President of the European Parliament David Martin, recently rebuked the Gambian authorities for the continues abuse of human rights in the West African country, calling for targeted sanction against President Yahya Jammeh and his immediate circle.
In a statement issued ahead of the high level meeting between EU and African leaders,the Green Party MEP for London urged EU leaders to ensure human rights is a key feature in negotiations with Gambia government at the upcoming summit in April where the next development tranche is sure to be discussed......
