Posted - 01 Nov 2014 : 01:13:02 Just one problem,it's all about talking money,is the money available for use in 2014 or when? I presume all the plans have been drawn and quantities of materials worked out,or were those things left until the money was promised ? The money may be delayed if David Cameron decides that he will not pay the underpayment that the UK has accumulated over the years that the £1.7 BILLION the EU says it wants by December, rumor has it that a big chunk is going to france anyway
Snippet:
“Out of these 76.5 million Euros, 48.5 million Euros were financed through the 9th EDF of which 40.5 million Euros came from the Gambian National Indicative Programme; three million Euros from the Senegalese National Indicative Programme to cover the trunk road from Sabi to Velingara, and five million Euros from the ECOWAS Regional Indicative Programme, as this project will also contribute to the regional integration of Western Africa. The remaining 28 million Euros were financed under the 10th EDF Gambian National Indicative Programme. The roads financed are the Barra-Amdallai Road (19.9 km); the Madina Ba-Seleti Road (12.7 km); the Trans-Gambia Highway (25 km); and the Soma-Basse road (193 km) of which the Sofanyama Bridge is an important part and the reason why we are gathered here today. The European Union has also contributed as much as 7 million Euros to the Basse-Velingara road project, which will be completed in the near future,” she disclosed.
