By Yero Jallow
You held me on my first breathe to earth You kept me safe over the ages of times You know I would have climbed that mountain Or better still conquer death to safe your grace.
I remember the sweet days of your reign When breakfast was ready before the sunrays’ peeping Lunch was on the table when I get back from school And dinner well cooked and served before the stars twinkle.
Over the years, I missed your smiles and company Your white teething laughter that brightened my face Your special encouragement that mellowed my feelings Your home school and support that prepared me for life.
It’s another celebration again; you are not around I would have wished your presence one more time Not the dreams which see you gone as I wake up from bed I mean your physical being; your one time standing soul.
As I came to terms that you are gone for ever I worried about the many rivers to cross I worried about the night beasts as I walk the forest alone And I never let go of God’s name and your special blessing.

Posted - 31 May 2014 : 02:15:19 Thanks for sharing this inspiring poem; expression of love, caring, bonding with your beloved rock in upbringing, guidance, protection, strength and life. Mothers (or especially women) take on most noble CREATIONS role (through power of GOD) for humanity! Mothers are the real heroes who nurture the young minds and make our human civilization thrive.
"An emotional and uplifting powerful lecture delivered by Imam Omar Suleiman in which he honored his mother," can console and inspire anyone on fortitude.
TO ALL OUR MOTHERS. MAY WE NEVER TAKE YOU FOR GRANTED!
1. This is taught to Muslim children around the world. - "Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: 'My Lord! bestow on them Your Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood'" (Qur'an 17: 23-24)
- "Heaven lies under the feet of your mother." (Hadith: Prophet Muhammad)
2. QUOTES EXTRACTED FOR MORE INSPIRING Tribute to Muslim Mothers - "When a lady bears children, her rewards are multiplied manifold. It is said that two rakaats of prayer of a pregnant woman is 80 times superior to that of a normal woman.
The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is reported to have said: "O Muslim women! Does it not please you that during your pregnancy, for every day that passes, you get the reward of fasting while out in the path of Allah; and that for every night that passes, you get the reward of spending the whole night in worship.
Then when the pains of labour start, and you bear them patiently, no one on this earth or in the Heavens knows of the comfort that Allah has prepared for you.
When the child is born, you get the reward of performing 70 years of Nafl (voluntary) prayer and keeping Nafl fasts. Then when you breastfeed the child, for every gulp of milk you will be rewarded, and for every night you stay awake to see to your baby you get the reward of freeing 70 slaves in the path of Allah and one year of Nafl worship.
When you complete breastfeeding your child, the Angels come and pat you on the back, saying: "Congratulations! All your minor sins are forgiven…" If a woman dies during childbirth, then she dies as a martyr (one who gives his life fighting in the path of Allah). [Quoted from Al Muzakkir]"
- "The travails of pregnancy that you endure, the unmatched dedication in caring for the newborn, and the selfless compassion that you show; there is no equal to that. Dictionaries will beat a retreat if one were to try to find the right word to say "thank you" to you !" by: Zafar Siddiqui
3. Muslim prayers! "O Allah, forgive us and our parents, and reward them with the finest reward. O Allah, elevate their position in the hereafter and this Dunya; make that which befalls them an expiation for their sins. O Allah, grant them residence in Firdows, the highest level of Jannah, with the Prophets, the Siddeeqeen, and the Martyrs"
"May Allah Most Merciful, Most Gracious answer all our prayers, have mercy on her and all of our parents who have passed away!" Ameen |
