Balance Crew, a non-profit movement, Saturday embarked on a renovation work of one of the Mosques in Mandinaba – West Coast Region replacing old corrugates with new ones amongst other works.
Established in 2013, Baba Ceesay, its CEO, said the Crew has registered “so much good,” and added that its aim was to assist needy people.
“The achievements are many because we believe as young people, when we come together as one, we will develop our country.”

“We mustn’t wait for the government, we are all part of the government and we all have a role to play.
“This work here at the mosque is one of our segments called ‘share hand,’ which means to give out, especially to communities in need of help.”
The CEO said the community was asked what they needed.

“They told us to help renovate their Mosque because during the rainy season it leaks. And so, we provided them with paints, twenty bags of cement, trips of sand, gravels, carpets, cardboards, cycling, buckets and fan. The total cost of all these things was sixty thousand dalasi.”
CEO Ceesay advised the youths to engage themselves in something meaningful.
Dembo Kuyateh, a youth leader, Touba Kabilo Ward – Mandinaba, said: “This is a support in the right direction. Our Mosque has been leaking.”
Sangie Saidy, the Imam Ratib, also thanked the donors and expressed delight over the renovation. He called on others to emulate them.
