Very very sad a young life ended,I sincerely hope that there will be an enquiry into his death to establish exactly why he found it necessary to end his life ,lessons would be learned that would MAYBE prevent ending other young lives in in this way.
My condolences to his family and friends

One Sanna Singhateh, 20, a welder by profession and a native of Saba village in the Lower Badibou District of the North Bank Region (NBR), has reportedly committed suicide on Friday evening, The Point has been informed.

The circumstances leading to his suicide could not be established at the time of gathering the report. “The deceased was found hanged in his house on Friday evening,” our sources in NBR added. He was laid to rest on Saturday in the afternoon.

COPY & pasted of MY DELETED TOPIC, in OCTOBER 2011 (NOW LOCKED.)

Am I missing something here ? a woman gets knocked down and killed,"the police have not been informed",it is a fact that the police have a duty to uphold the law and investigate any offence that may have been committed, yet in this case the police are waiting to be informed,!!!! it is up to the police to make enquiries,I do not know if Gambia has a coroners inquest system ,in which the circumstances of every out of the ordinary death is looked at,unless a doctor writes a certificate as to the cause of death .It would be interesting for me to know the way in which "unusual or suspicious death" is dealt with in Gambia, any Gambian able to post a reply here to tell me ?

"Yet, two months on, Gambia’s police spokesperson said, he received no information regarding the old woman’s death.
Lawyer Gaye has however assured that justice will be done. “We are not going to negotiate the matter,” he said."
"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.

Top Dutch Official Speaks On Death In Gambian Cell
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
(JollofNews) - In the continuing fall out from the death of a Dutch detainee in Gambian cells, Mr Toonvan Wik, Dutch Foreign Affairs spokesman has told Jollofnews that his government has attached great importance to the affair and is doing everything possible to obtain clarity about the death of Denis Milgo Winter, one of many charged with drug trafficking in a Banjul court.
In an interview with Jollofnews from his base in Holland, the spokesman said his country has sent an envoy to Banjul who is currently gathering information on the matter.
“Our deputy staff from the Dakar Embassy is in Banjul meeting Gambian government officials and we expected them to provide us with an autopsy report of Mr Winter’s death to ascertain the cause of death.
This is a very serious matter which is very important to us,” he said. This is the latest top level Dutch official to make remarks on the mysterious death in custody of Milgo Winter, just days before he was due for sentencing on a drug charge.
His fellow detainees have since been slammed a half a century prison term.
