Thanks all for responses. I'm not on Facebook (so I haven't transferred there!).
I still look here but not as regularly as I used to. I am still very involved with families in The Gambia and Bantaba was a place where I learnt and could be amongst similar thinking friends.

But too many trite and ridiculously silly posts - posted for no benefit to the Bantaba community - really drove me away.

If we could focus back on more sensible discussions, perhaps more would return? I am sure they are still looking.

And hello to you all you people looking but not responding - say hello back! Thank you

My guess is that most people are now gone to Facebook.

I log onto this site on a daily basis for a read. What is strange is that out of 562 members very few people post on the site. Given what is going on in the Gambia at the moment where are the postings from Gambians. I know that many of my friends are wary of saying anything that can be construed as anti-government either on a personal level or on the internet. There is a climate of fear about exercising the right of free speech and many Gambians worry about informers and NIA harassment. Any one want to comment on this!!
