Salam to all of you guys! I am appalled by the rising price of land in The Gambia and the greed and deception of some people. I am a mother of two who is looking to buy land. I really would appreciate any advice from my brothers and sisters and also if you could point me in the right direction. For your information, I am a student and i do not have a lot of money. Thanks

1. Yes affordable land and homes only for Gambians. Refer to this interesting statement quoted from The Point News report from Related Bantaba topic SSHFC Partners BPI Dubai Firm for 400 houses

"Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) has entered into a joint venture with BP Investment Group, a Dubai-based company, to provide about 400 houses and 110 apartments in less than two years for Gambians at home and abroad."

You may find the following useful links under 2. to 4. for private property business.

2. WHAT ABOUT THIS WEBSITE WITH ADVERT. "LAND OWNERSHIP MADE EASY AND AFFORDABLE * AS LOW AS D100 PER DAY PROPERTIES" BEING ADVERTISED IN DAILY OBSERVER AND THE POINT NEWSPAPERS;

3. ACCESS GAMBIA INFORMATION WEB DIRECTORY & INFORMATION;

4. TAF HOLDING LTD RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES PORTAL;

Mbay, my sympathies are with you,it is unfortunate that many of these people see their title as a power base and they can do EXACTLY as they like,in some cases a contractor will have to "dash" powerful people who live in the same village or town as the property he is to build or develop is situated,such people live very well under such an engrained local system , Work, that's what others do isn't it? we don't do that here my friends and I just enjoy others sweat.

So far as you want clean proper deal, stay away from Alkalos and their agents. You may be in multiple ownership crisis. Same Alkalo will stamp different document for more than one ownership claimant. Go by Kobo's advice.

Good luck with your search.

Sharriffa, My Gambian Wife just last year purchased land from the government(SSHFC) in Tujuring. The cost was around £2,000. We are flying to Gambia on Monday, and as in the agreement she will be aranging to have it fenced. the plot is discounted for Gambiam Citizens, and was 25x15metres.

Social Security Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC)may have good clean deals and am not sure whether they continue selling plots or forfeited properties from defaulters
