Interesting PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT from the MOH obviously any proceedure which helps to manage and identify people who have Covid 19 or who are symptomatic is welcome, an observation on the published announcement, who is funding this scheme? and is the testing kit and results that are obtained from the sample FREE or if not what is the cost?

I assume the testing is free of charge. However, MOH had earlier announced that anyone entering the country should have a COVID-19 test certificate, which is less than 5 days otherwise one would have to pay D5000 for the test and also have to pay the cost of hotel for quarantine.

"pay D5000 for the test..." Words fail me ........... Not surprised though.

Momodou even with your vast number of contacts you are unable to provide "clarification" of my observations

Good news for those who plan to visit the Gambia for the upcoming Tourists Season 2020/21. As we said the guidelines might change about the measures taken by the ministry of Tourism. Arriving passengers will no longer be subjected to quarantine when you can provide the negative Covid-19 test certificate of not more than 72 hours, will not be tested in Gambia.

Anyone who arrives without fulfiling these Health requirements shall be tested on arrival and undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Equally, those in violation shall be responsible for their own quarantine expenses.
